FRIENDS OF FILM FUND
The UW Cinematheque is devoted to showing films from around the world and from all periods of film history that would not otherwise be available to the University or the Madison community. The Cinematheque is committed to top quality projection and exhibition, showing films as they were intended to be shown (in 35mm for most theatrical releases), in the proper aspect ratio, with stereophonic and Dolby sound where appropriate, and, in the case of silent film, at the proper speed of projection and with live musical accompaniment. To continue bringing unseen cinema to Madison, we need your help. Admission to the UW Cinematheque is free of charge, and we want to keep it that way! However, the cost of obtaining films from studio vaults and public archives increases every year. We ask that you consider making a donation to Friends of Film to help us maintain our programming, and to continue to grow. Contributions at any level help to defray the costs of projection, rental fees, and shipping so that we can mount ambitious programs that are truly international in scope. Or, if something on our calendar catches your eye, consider sponsoring a specific program or series.
All donations are tax-deductible.
